PROJECT: PLAY OUT

Project: Play Out is a pop-up collaborative art project, based on the belief that grown-ups need to play too.

Founded by a former pre-school teacher, this project aims to build community through hour-long, open-ended experiences with playful art materials.

SMALL GROUP SESSIONS

When you sign up, you’ll be placed in a small group of maximum 6 people. Sign up with a friend or come solo! Either way, we hope you’ll build community while here.

Small groups might have a theme they are exploring based on common interests, or be completely open.

PROCESS, THEN PRODUCT.

During the first half of the session, you’ll collaborate with others using process-oriented materials. This part of the session is meant to encourage play without product.

Afterwards, we’ll use more permanent materials to make a take-away product.

OPEN-ENDED MATERIALS

Project Play Out does not involve any instruction or art lessons.

All of the materials are open-ended and set up to invite collaborative exploration. You and the rest of your group interpret the materials and continually add new ideas.

FRIENDS?

Project: Play Out believes that collaborative play can be the gateway to new community and friendships. After the session, you’ll be invited to share your contact information with others in your session.
